Zelda Calculator for Nintendo DSi
Sadly, this is the only bit of Zelda news we have so far this year. Are we desperate for news or what?
Iwata: Not many people would go to the store, spend several thousand yen on software for a calculator or road map, and then stick the cartridge in their DS. But suppose we offered a Zelda Calculator, an Animal Crossing Clock, route maps of various major cities, or only the simple mode of Tetris as low-cost downloads? I’m sure the new demand can be made. source
Crab Helmet over at Zelda Universe has written a fantastic article which goes over recent speculations over the new Zelda game’s number and types of items and weapons. Often speculators express a want for a large number of new items in the new Zelda. Crab however makes an excellent point that the more recent Zelda games have been over saturated with too many items which are only used once or twice throughout the game. Crab recalls the first and second Zelda games which only had very few items and weapons. In these games the player was able to use these items extensively throughout the game in order to discover new secrets. I have to agree with Crab in that I do not believe that the next Zelda game needs a gigantic selection of weapons and items. Why don’t you read Crab Helmet’s opinion and let us know here what you think the number of items in the next Zelda should be!

Name of the next Zelda Hint in Patent?
Shigeru Miyamoto has filed a patent which might contain clues to the name of the extremely anticipated next Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii. Deep within the patent is the name, “Legend of OO”. Could this be the initials for the next Zelda? Perhaps… for now all we can do is speculate on what OO might stand for.

First Zeldaless Year Since 1999
Last year was the first Zelda-less year for 10 years. Lets hope that this year Nintendo plans to give us more of what we want! Rumors abound that a true Wii Zelda game is heavily under the mouse and keyboard at Nintendo as we speak. I can only imagine how amazing it’s going to be as Nintendo has arguably never disappointed when it comes to Zelda
. You can be sure that I will be keeping a sharp eye out for the slightest tidbit of news from Nintendo on the next Zelda game all year long!
P.S. Why is Mario winning the poll?!
Here’s a quick news post for ya! Travis Fahs has a great 10 page overview of the history of The Legend of Zelda written over at IGN.
Wow I must be living under a rock. I had never even heard about this film until today! While it is cheesy in all of its low budget goodness, I am truly impressed. The people involved in creating the film are definitely huge Zelda fans! Also out now is a new “hot video update” which can be viewed after the beak below the trailer.
According to GameRankings.com, Super Mario Galaxy has just surpassed The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time’s average ranking of 97.6%. Super Mario Galaxy launched itself up to 97.8%, thus it has been declared the best game of all time, as well as the best Nintendo Wii game!
